Open Offices and Hours
Updated 7.27.20: Consult goshen.edu/contact for clarity about which offices are open to the public and their hours of operation.
COVID-19 testing site: As of July 1, there is a COVID-19 Mobile Testing Site on campus. It is run by Maple City Health Care Center and is located in the College Mennonite Church parking lot. It is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. (last appointment at 4:45 p.m.) and closed 12-1 p.m. for lunch (no appointment required, 15 minutes for results, drive-in). Admissions Office / Welcome Center: by appointment, following GC visitor safety guidelines (admissions@goshen.edu or 574.535.7000). Admissions campus visits can be scheduled here.
Bookstore: Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Campus Post / ITSMedia service desk: Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-noon, 1-3 p.m.
Library: Monday-Thursday noon-4 p.m.
Mennonite Historical Library is closed until Aug. 3 though. Starting on June 29, the Good Library will allow access into the shelves and resuming normal checkout procedures. The computer lab and basement gallery will remain closed. Contact-free lobby pick-up of books is still available. Learn more here.
Physical Plant: Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-noon, 1-4:30 p.m.
Printing and Mailing: Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-noon, 1-5 p.m.
Rec-Fitness Center: Will reopen to students, faculty and staff with ID card access only beginning Monday, August 3 from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. There will be COVID-19 mitigation strategies implemented when we re-open with signage posted. Strategies include spaced out cardio equipment, lower weight room capacity, mask wearing when not doing cardio, and separate entrances for entering and exiting the buildings. Please do your part while inside the building.
Important Dates for Fall 2020
- Aug. 1-11: Student leaders, student-teachers, student-athletes and international students will be returning at various times. Members of these groups will receive details directly from coaches or advisors.
- Tuesday, Aug. 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.: All-Employee Retreat (more details here)
- Friday, Aug. 14: Launch — check-in for all new students and move-in for new residential students (more details here)
- Saturday, Aug. 15: Launch continues for all new students
- Sunday, Aug. 16: Returning students move into the residence halls; Launch continues for all new students
- Monday, Aug. 17: All returning students check-in
- Tuesday, Aug. 18: Classes begin for traditional undergraduate courses
- Sept. 30: No class, study day
- Oct. 13: No class, study day
- Nov. 20-24 (Friday, Monday, Tuesday): Finals
